Getting to Know: Keona
What’s something interesting or unusual about you that not everyone knows?
I have 2 different coloured eyes, one is green and brown. Most people don’t notice because you need to look closely at my eyes in just the right light.
Where are you from?
Just outside of Hobart, Tasmania.
What is your town or city most famous (or infamous) for?
MONA (Museum of Old and New Art).
What books are set in your town/city?
‘The Stone Angel’ by Katherine Scholes is set in Tasmania.
About Your Writing
What do you write?
I’ve loved books from a young age and I believe that I have stories inside of me that will encourage others.
Who or what are your main writing influences?
I love Francine Rivers and Katherine Scholes.
Do you have any books published?
Not yet.
How long have you been writing?
For decades but only recently started to make my writing public.
What inspired you to start writing?
During my darkest days with my adrenal/fatigue battle I received daily devotions from Proverbs 31 Ministries and these devotions kept me going. I figured that with all I’ve been through that sharing my stories would help at least a few people.
What’s your favourite part of the writing process?
I love how I can be woken up in the middle of the night with words running through my head. If I get up during those moments I find that I can write 2,000+ words.
What’s your biggest writing challenge?
Having the energy to write, I find it quite an exciting but draining process.
How does your faith impact your writing?
I wouldn’t be here without God intervening in my life.
Finally, where’s the best place to find you online?
At Facebook.
Hi Keona, How fascinating that you have slightly different coloured eyes. I have green/hazel eyes that change colour, but they uniformly change to the same colour. Thanks for sharing with us.
WOW cool, I love how eyes can be so striking. Blessings x
Always love interviews. I find writing fiction very draining too.
I’ve been able to chip away a bit more at my writing which has been exciting. Hope you’re going ok. Blessings x
HI Keona – the first thing I notice about someone is the colour of their eyes. What an interesting trait you have! All the best with your writing – a great way to encourage people for sure.
Thank you, exciting times ahead as I write write ready to release
Thank you! Blessings x
Hi Keona! Yes, it’s definitely worth making the effort to write down those 2am words, isn’t it? I have a notebook beside my bed that I have to try to decipher the scribble the next day – to interesting effect!
So glad you capture the 2am words also, I read back over them and gain so much encouragement! Blessings
Keona, I find it so fascinating when people wake up in the middle of the night with words or songs etc to write down! So cool that you act on it then and there. No doubt God will give you some gems if He is waking you up at that time x
It’s an amazing encounter to wake up ‘buzzing’ with words, I so appreciate it. Blessings x
