Book Review | Forgotten Identity by Penny Zeller

Today I am reviewing Forgotten Identity by Penny Zeller

Book Description

Who is he really? And why is someone after him?

Mariah Holzman never imagined a whiteout blizzard would sever all communication from the outside world—communication desperately needed for the injured man Mariah finds near her home. Nor did she imagine helping nurse the man back to health would lead to threats and intimidation. As danger escalates and questions rise, Mariah is left to wonder what kind of person she has allowed into her home.

Grant MacGuire never imagined he would wake up one day in a strange cabin, surrounded by strange people, with no memory of who he is or how he was injured. Nor did he imagine his presence would put the lives of those who saved him in danger. As Grant struggles with distorted memories, he wonders if his life is worth the price the Holzman family is paying.

The growing attraction between Mariah and Grant is hindered by Grant’s unknown identity. Is Grant, as the family’s neighbor assumes, a criminal on the run from the law? Or is there more to his identity—and the reason he was attacked—than they realize?

Happily-ever-after Christian romances by best-selling, award-winning author, Penny Zeller:

Book Review

After Reading Penny Zeller’s first Romantic Suspense novel last year I was keen to read this one. I wasn’t disappointed. This one is even better. The suspense is stronger and the sense of danger is there.

The book starts with a curious dog called Nosy because he is nosy and often into mischief. Mariah and her son Jordon are trying to catch Nosy when he stubbles on to someone in the snow. With a blizzard expected they need to get the man into the cabin out of the weather.

This is where the story starts and we find out the stranger has lost his memory and one of the kids decides his name. Not going to say more cos I don’t give away story lines. But it is cute. Mariah has Jordon aged 7 and Presley aged 4 who I have to say are scene stealers.

There are people looking for the stranger but Mariah has a bad feeling about them so keeps him secret. It’s around here the suspense is starting. The drama and suspense builds throughout the story and has a satisfying climax. We learn early on who the bad guys are which is common in a Suspense there are surprises. I like that this is more a straight suspense with romance rather than a mystery suspense.

The story reads well and is fast paced to the point even being a longer book I was reading faster than I often do. I just didn’t want to put it down. This is a stand alone but I really hope the author keeps writing this genre.

Great book to start the year.
