Today I am reviewing Jenny Glazebrook’s new release, How the World Turns.
Book Description
What do you do when your world is turned upside down?
Ella Glade has chosen never to compete with her beautiful, talented half-sister Verity. Unfortunately Verity doesn’t have the same idea.
When loss leaves Ella broken-hearted, she chooses to move forward, using her creative gifts to help others, and finding her own way in life, far away from her sister.
But now a grieving child has been placed in her care and Ella is forced to question her values, face her past, and place her life and safety in the hands of others.
Does she need to sacrifice herself and her dreams again, or can she trust that God has the world in His hands and her best interests at heart?
AN AUSTRALIAN STORY OF FRIENDSHIP, FAMILY, FAITH AND FORGIVENESS.
Book Review
This is another great book by Jenny Glazebrook.
This book is in two parts the first sets up the story and is needed to understand what will happen. Ella lost her mother at an early age and her father remarried. She has always felt she had to take care of her half-sister Verity even if it means she misses out. Learning about this is important for the rest of the story. In the second part Ella is now away at university and we see her living on her own and finally living her own dreams. The book then moves forward a few more years to Ella working when her life changes.
The second part of the story is a suspense element. She is now protecting a grieving child. I love the suspense elements and seeing what Ella will do. Also seeing how she sees her past in a new light as she protects this child. This book shows how we have our own reality and know how an event is impacting us but we often don’t realize the same event has affected another person in a different way. When we see how both sides are dealing with the same events we can then understand the whys.
While this book is categorized as Women’s fiction it also has romantic suspense elements. I would definitely read more books in this style. There are faith elements that had me thinking and a having an ah that makes sense moment. Great read.
Hi Jenny, Thanks for sharing your review. This book is my next read that I’m starting this afternoon! 🙂
I am sure you will enjoy it.
