My Review:

Thanks to Netgalley for my review copy.

Another good read by Love Inspired Suspense. This book is another cold case but for me the first one I have read. Mike works as a deputy sheriff and has been looking into a cold case of a missing person from 12 years prior. He was the last person to see her and the case haunts him. His cousin is a suspect, but he has always believed in his innocence.

Christy is a FBI investigator who was also best friends with the victim Dawn. She is in Mercy Texas to find out what happened and has her sights on Mike’s Cousin. Someone doesn’t want her to investigate which leads to more questions than answers.

I enjoyed who the book played out with the suspense building throughout the book. While it has all the suspense elements in it, I didn’t find it as heavy suspense or on the edge of my seat suspense. For those who love a romantic suspense that is a little lighter than some would enjoy this book. In saying this I still found it hard to put down and read it in just over 2 days. (falling asleep reading made me take an extra day). The interaction between Mike and Christy works well with just the right amounts of tension. I will read more books by this author.

Romantic Suspense is becoming my favourite genre. In most of these books the Romance is secondary to the story.
