Book Review | The Pastor’s Hope by Meghann Whistler

Today I am reviewing The Pastor’s Hope by Meghann Whistler out 1 April 2025

Book Description

Can they let go of the past…

To find a fresh start?

When pastor Nate Anderson says yes to being his father’s best man, he certainly doesn’t expect to be matched up with the maid of honor. The widowed single dad has been alone a long time but has never wanted to give his heart to anyone. Thankfully, recent widow Amanda Kobayashi feels the same way. But when Nate and Amanda are forced to take dance lessons before the wedding, there’s an undeniable connection between them. Can they ever overcome their losses and give love a second chance?

From Love Inspired: Uplifting stories of faith, forgiveness and hope.

My Review

Thanks to the author for my review copy.

Another great read by Meghann Whistler. This book we are introduced to Nate the pastor of the local church. He is bringing up his 12-year-old son Hayden after his wife passed away. We learn early on he’s looking to go to Harvard to do further study to be a college professor.

We are introduced to Amanda who is also a widow with a 3-year-old Ivy. Early one something happens where Ivy and Hayden meet and for a connection. Amanda has recently moved to Wychmere Bay Massachusetts. Her God mother is marrying Nate’s father, and she is the Matron of Honor to Nates Best man. Her God mother Irene is a matchmaker and does her best to set them up.

I liked the different story. With both Nate and Amanda Widower/Widow. Both still grieving the loss of a partner and both bringing up children alone. Nate hosts a grief group for those who have lost a partner at the church. Its a group that many would benefit from. Watching the different feelings of losing a partner and how it takes time to work through the feelings is good to see. Even after many years Nate still struggles. The subject was well handled and very real.

The star of this story is actually a 3-year-old Ivy. She is such a cute character. Her connection to Hayden is sweet also.

I eagerly await the next book by this author.
