Book Review | Unexpected Witness by Penny Zeller

Today I am reviewing Unexpected Witness by Penny Zeller

Book Description

If she can identify one person, she could bring down an entire crime network.

Nurse Mila Casey did not expect to witness a murder in the clinic’s parking lot. Nor did she imagine seeking protection from the at-large killer would land her on a secluded ranch owned by handsome, but standoffish, Roarke Brenneman.

Mila finds herself in the center of ever-growing danger as the police are unable to locate the suspect. When the protection of the ranch is compromised and Mila’s location is discovered, can she, with Roarke’s aid, stay one step ahead of a crazed murderer who intends to silence her forever?

**Please note: Unexpected Witness is a faith-filled Christian romantic suspense novel.**

Book Review

Thanks to the author for my review copy.

I use to avoid suspense books but am finding I enjoy suspense with a romantic element. Heavy suspense I will still normally avoid. This falls into the suspense with a romantic element. The book starts with Milla witnessing a crime and finds herself in danger. When she arrives at the police station she needs to go into hiding.

This is where Roarke and his families ranch come into play. Here she should be hidden away and safe. She also meets his mother and nephew who both are special people.

Have you ever watched a mystery and something happens outside and you say to the characters don’t go out, hide. Well I found a few of these moments in this book. The book flows well and doesn’t get bogged down, it move forward at a good rate.

While I had some thoughts at different times about who could be involved but on the whole I was kept guessing. I look forward to more books in the series.

If you enjoy Romantic Suspense with a good story I am sure you will enjoy this book. If you are looking for the suspense rating I would equate it to a Love Inspired Suspense book.
