Fiction Friday | Book Review of Her Tycoon Hero by Narelle Atkins

Today I am reviewing Her Tycoon Hero by Narelle Atkins  releasing today

Cassie Beaumont believes in second chances

Cassie is set on proving she’s no longer a party girl, instead focusing on her career as an event planner. Ryan Mitchell, her dad’s top executive, proves to be a handsome distraction, especially when someone from Cassie’s wild past tries to draw her back into the life she has worked hard to escape.

Ryan is taken with his boss’s beautiful daughter. But he is slow to trust, having been burned by a brother who ran in the same circles. When Cassie’s newfound faith works its way into his heart, Ryan wants to claim both Cassie and her faith as his own. Can they forgive past mistakes and navigate a future together?

My Review

Thanks to the author for my copy.

Cassie feels she will always be judged by her past behaviour and no matter what she does some people are not letting her forget that was was a party girl. Her father is one of her toughest critics. Ryan works for her father and is the brother of the guy she use to party hard which who also ran of leaving chaos behind.

I really felt for Cassie she is now a Christian and been sober now for almost 2 years but it seems there are people who can’t seem to believe she can stay sober. Her father being one of them. Ryan also has issues dealing with his brother and how he left. Causing heartache for his parents and grief for Ryan. We also see Cassie’s sister Laura who is getting ready to get married and Ryan and Cassie will be in the wedding party.

I like the way the book flows. From the beginning I feel for Cassie she feels she doesn’t measure up and no matter how she tries she and her father clash. She also isn’t sure where Ryan stands in his faith journey and we see him struggling with forgiveness issues. As I only review on the beginning of the book so as not to give anything away I have to say I really have trouble liking Cassie’s father. I need to see what will happen with him and Cassie. I also found Laura to be spoilt and entitled in many way. She wasn’t to the point of annoying but growing up with money you could tell she wanted the best. She also had some wise words for Cassie at times. Cassie’s room mate Julia was a voice of reason and often had the advice Cassie needed but said in a very gentle way.

I like Ryan also. He has a lot to deal with and think about and I love seeing his character grow throughout the book. We also get to see some Australian Icons and locations.

A good read.
