Book Review | A Texas Easter Blessing by Mindy Obenhaus

Today I am reviewing A Texas Easter Blessing by Mindy Obenhaus

Book Description:

A new ranch home could lead to a new family.

After his marriage fails, single father Ryder Sinclair returns to his hometown with his young son to care for his ailing mother. He’s surprised to run into his teenage crush, Kendall Hunt, whose career as a professional chef has been shaken by scandal. As the two work together to save an Easter event usually hosted by Ryder’s mother, Kendall finds herself longing for this sense of family with Ryder and little Shepard. But when she has a chance to go back to the life she once knew, will she choose the dream she’s spent years chasing…or the new dream that has taken hold of her heart?

My Review:

Thanks to Netgalley for my review copy.

This is the third book in the Legacy Ranch series by Mindy Obenhaus and this time it features Kendall Hunt. Kendall is back at the ranch due to a scandal at her previous job where she was let go due to no fault of her own. It had been her dream job as a chef but now she isn’t sure what she will do. Her car has broken down on the road. Our hero Ryder Sinclair and his 4-year-old son Shephard (Shep for short) come by and help. They had known each other when they were in High School.

We learn Ryder’s mother is having treatment for cancer which is why Ryder has come back. He is now working for Kendall’s sisters’ fiancés at the Legacy Ranch. Kendal ends up helping with his mother being there, so she isn’t alone while working out what she is going to do in the future. Ryder is now divorced after his former wife wanted a career more than a family.

Both have a lot of issues they are dealing with. Kendall is more self-doubts and low self-confidence whereas Ryder is dealing with the pain and all that goes with a failed marriage. Shep is a character and a scene stealer. I love how the book plays out and we see how the characters deal with their issues. We also see how they can affect a person and in return affect others.

The faith element is real too which I appreciate. I would love to say more but then you wouldn’t need to read this book. If you haven’t read the first two in the series you can still read this book without feeling lost. Each is a stand-alone but reading the other 2 books will enhance the experience. If you love books on Ranches and small towns, and a heartwarming read give this book a go. I can’t wait for the next in the series.
