Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat. This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.
Today’s question is:
What elements do you think a book needs to be compelling and impactful?
We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.
Let’s chat!
I think a book needs to be well written with strong characters that capture my attention. A good storyline that isn’t complicated and confusing. It helps if the book is marketed correctly so when I pick up the book I know what genre to expect. To be impactful will be different for everyone and it will depend on the story. I can’t say what elements are needed I just know when I read one that it worked.
Your turn.
I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group.
A good romance plot (as a general rule). An authentic issue the character is struggling with spiritually for best impact. Throw in some deep POV, poetical moments, and I’ll love it.
Sounds good. Thanks for commenting
