Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat. This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.
Today’s question is:
Do you prefer to wait until a full series is out, or read the novels as they are released?
We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.
Let’s chat!
It depends, sometime I will start reading as they come out especially if its a couple months apart. For Example Susan Page Davis’s mystery series they come out about every 6 months so I read them as they come out. Often books that come out twice a month or even monthly I tend to get behind as there are times I struggle to read a lot. So often have several to read at the one time. Ironically I will lose interest in some series if they are too close together as I can’t keep up so I often don’t finish at series. (Especially a multi author series where one book really frustrates me and I then am not sure I want to read more).
Your turn.
I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group.
I like to be a few books behind, so that when I’ve read Book 1, Book 2 is waiting for me.
especially if its a long wait.
I do like it when they are all out, but if it’s a favourite author, I can’t wait that long! 🙂
I agree although with an author like Gilbert Morris with over 40 books I read the first in one go but then it was as they came out and then got way behind
I read them as they come out. Partly this is because there are some series where there is a long wait in between books and it is possible to miss out on being able to purchase them if you wait for the whole series.
Thats true. I have some where I have bought them but still haven’t read the whole series
