Tuesday Book Chat | 18 March 2025

Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat.

This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week. As we are a faith-based group the questions refer mainly to Christian fiction or non-fiction.

Today’s question is:

Do you sign up to newsletters to get the free reader magnet?

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group. Remember to comment today on Tuesday Book Chat to enter the giveaway.

Let’s chat!

No. Mostly it won’t entice me to join. If its part of a series I have read then I may be tempted but mostly no. I tend to avoid those promos where you get free books which are the free reader magnets because I don’t want to join the mailing list. I often will join a newsletter and don’t take the free reader magnet.

Your turn.

I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group.

Comment on today’s post to enter the Tuesday Book Chat quarterly e-gift card giveaway sponsored by Narelle Atkins. Two winners per quarter, $10 US or $15 Aussie e-gift cards.

The winners can choose between an Amazon.com or Kobo USD $10 gift card, or an AUD $15 gift card from Amazon AustraliaiBooksKobo, or Koorong.com.au.

  1. Rarely. The book needs to intrigue me and not be available any other way. And it needs to be an author I’m strongly considering purchasing one of their books to try, but I’m on the fence. Then I might sign up to read their freebie.
But for the most part, no.

    1. I agree. I have read a couple I did read Jennifer Mistmogan’s freebie but I can’t think of any others I have read. I often get the freebie and most of the time don’t even bother downloading. One reason is I am not a fast reader and I have a huge TBR list.
