Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat.
This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.
Today’s question is:
What is one character trait that will cause you to close the book?
We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.
Let’s chat!
I am not sure. The last book I did not finish due to a character was because of his self entitlement. I am not sure if that’s the exact trait. He was a self made billionaire who thought helping someone do dishes was beneath him. Instead of just helping out it made it clear he has servants to do these jobs. I would say the trait is arrogance or contempt for those below them.
This may have been ok if he was had been brought up this way and didn’t know better as in a historical. But he grew up poor and had done this sort of work while becoming self made. Now he thought it was something he was to important to do. He may have changed in the book or it may have just been my perception but I didn’t finish.
Your turn.
I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group.
Too self important, soiled dove, or bad boys are a quick way to turn me off a book.
thanks for commenting. I am glad I am not the only one who has an issue with bad boys. Mine may be a different reason. Most so called bad boys are not really bad boys.
