Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat.
This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.
Today’s question is:
What’s your favourite book quote?
We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.
Let’s chat!
I don’t have one as I don’t remember quotes when I finish a book. But I do have a favourite quote about books. It comes from Thomas Jefferson and I had it on a book bag. “I cannot live without books”
Your turn.
I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group.

That’s a great quote Jenny! I love it and it’s so true!
There are quotes that I remember from books that I studied at school, but none of them would be classified as my favourite book quote.
Thanks Beth. I loved the bag when I got it still have it but the binding round the edges didn’t hold and needs fixing if possible. It was amazing how many saw the bag and quote and would comment. I am the person who will read quotes but won’t retain them. So when an author say if you have a favourite quote let me know and I am like woops I don’t remember.
Hi Jenny, I’m with Beth and couldn’t pick only one favourite book quote. The Thomas Jefferson quote is a good one!
Instead, I’ll share a quote that stood out in the most recent book I’ve read – Fiancé Finale by Angela Ruth Strong:
“When someone tries to tell you what to do, they are putting themselves in the place of God in your life. That makes it spiritual warfare.”
A note about the Thomas Jefferson quote. Angela (whos book you quoted) is giving away the same bookbag I have with this quote).
thats a good quote also.
It’s the perfect quote for a book bag. 😊
Ooh, that’s a tough one, Jenny! Like you, I often forget quotes that struck me. I do want to make a habit of either highlighting them on my eReader or going old school and keeping them in a notebook, but I often don’t remember to do it!
I know I see good quotes but just don’t think about it. When I read I read cos I want to read not have to think Oh I must find a quote to share in the book. (Its like if after I read a book you ask me to tell you what colour eyes, hair etc the charaters have mostly I don’t recall)
