Tuesday Book Chat | 23 July 2024

Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat.

This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.

Today’s question is:

What’s your last five-star read?

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.

Let’s chat!

Right in front of You by Jessica Wakefield. It releases Next Tuesday. I plan to get my review up this week. It is the next book in the Trinity Lakes series. We meet a few of the locals and local places. I found it better than Jessica’s debut book which I also enjoyed.

Your turn.

I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group.

  1. Hi Jenny, My last five-star read was the book I finished yesterday: Wells and Wanderers by Christine Dillon. I purchased the ebook from Christine’s online store in Feb 2023 and it’s taken awhile for it to reach the top of my TBR but it was worth the wait. Excellent Biblical era fiction and different to her Grace series contemporary fiction. 🙂

For the fiction writers: If you want to know the differences between character-driven plotting and plot-driven plotting that’s not mystery/suspense/thriller, read Christine’s books. Her contemporary fiction (Grace series) is character driven plotting and ‘Wells and Wanderers’ (historical fiction) is plot driven ie. the main characters aren’t primarily driving the action that’s taking place in the story.

    1. thanks for sharing sounds interesting and thanks for the explanation

  2. Fire and Ice by Carolyn Miller was my last five star read. I finished about two weeks ago and I’m still thinking about it. It was so funny! I was laughing out loud throughout the whole thing. It was a wonderfully written rom-com, and the characters jumped straight into my heart. I can’t wait to read more books in this series. I recommend it for the romance readers on here.
