Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat.

This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.

Today’s question is:

Do you ever re-read retellings of famous novels?

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.

Let’s chat!

Very rarely. I have too many unread to re-read. I do re-read devotional books.

Your turn.

I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group.

I may not answer for a few days as will be having surgery tomorrow in the city.

  1. Hi Jenny, I love re-reading books and it’s kind of like eating comfort food. I know that I will enjoy and appreciate the story again. I also know the story won’t disappoint me because I’m reading with the right expectations. It’s fun to reconnect with the characters. 😊

    1. I use to as a child and teen but not so much now probably cos my tbr pile will last til next century.

      1. My love for re-reading is definitely a contributing factor to my out-of-control TBR list. It’s also why I buy ebooks/paperbacks rather than use KU. I use the Notes feature in Kindle and it’s sometimes fun to read my Notes. 😊

  2. I do re-read books; currently doing that now, as I ran out of books on my TBR pile, other than Christmas novels that I save for December. My favourite authors can’t keep up with me ;).
As for re-reading retellings of famous novels, there was a series based on Jane Austen’s books that I read a couple of times each, but the second time I chose not to keep them anymore as the story just fell flat.
