Tuesday Book Chat | 25 November 2025

Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat.

This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week. As we are a faith-based group the questions refer mainly to Christian fiction or non-fiction.

Today’s question is:

Have you ever read a book with your name in it? (Both first and Last name)

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group. Remember to comment today on Tuesday Book Chat to enter the giveaway.

Let’s chat!

Yes, it was in a Christmas Novella set by Barbour. I don’t remember the title of the book or author, but I still remember the book. It was a historical and Jenny Blake was a side character who I think was a widow and having to do cleaning work to makes ends meet. But she was a nice person. It is interesting reading you whole name (I go by Jenny not Jennifer) even if it wasn’t me it felt like it could have been.

Your turn.

I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group.

  1. That would have been fun for you, Jenny.
I haven’t found my name anywhere. The occasional Suzie spelt like mine, but not the surname. I imagine it would feel weird!

    1. After the shock it was interesting. I know some would love to be a character but I found it almost confronting at first. Thankfully the character wasn’t a baddy. I know I have had my name used by a couple of authors. One used mine for a first and another reader for the last name That felt great but not as jarring. (Gilbert Morris was going to name a character Jennifer Winslow after I had written to him. There is no confirmation that character is but I like to think I was the inspiration as I have his letter to me saying he may use it)

  2. First name, yes, though never just Beth like my name is. It was always short for Elizabeth, Bethany or some other variant. Never my last name though.

    1. Thats true a lot of Beth’s are short for other names. Its like Rosie is often short for Rosemary or Rosalie or Rosalyn. My friends daughter is Rosie.

    1. It is strange seeing your name in a book. The same happened reading a Susan Page Davis book the wife of a murder victim was Thelma Blake. I have to say I was taken aback for a moment. You see my older sister who died at childbirth was going to be Thelma Joy Blake. (would have been known as Joy) She was named after Dads sister who died at about the age of 15 of Diphtheria. The lady was a little eccentric in the book and being older I could see my aunt as this lady. And while it wasn’t her I felt like my aunt got a story of her own even if she never lived it (and it was USA not Australia).

  3. My given name is Lucinda Evelyn Knowles and my nick names are Cindi, Luci and Evi. So yes I have books with all of my names in them many times over the years. It’s always cool.
