Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat.
This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week. As we are a faith-based group the questions refer mainly to Christian fiction or non-fiction.
Today’s question is:
Have you ever been on a launch team?
We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group. Remember to comment today on Tuesday Book Chat to enter the giveaway.
Let’s chat!
Yes. I have been lucky to been on several launch teams over the years. Currently I have a couple authors that I am a permanent member. With these I can choose which book I will read as sometimes there may be a time restraint. Also, in one new group I have joined the author writes in several genres and some I don’t read. They are ok and understand this as they know not all readers read all genres or books. (Although not so sure I needed to add that cos most authors understand readers have preferences)
Your turn.
I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group.

I’ve never had the privilege to be involved in a launch. I didn’t even know that there’s a way to do such a thing!
Hi Penny, Yes there is if you like reading and happy to leave a review and share images at facebook and other social media you can often get on a launch team. Some authors just need readers who are happy to get some reviews up.
I haven’t, but that’s mostly because only e-books are offered for review and I only read print.
Thats true. If you like in America they provide print books and they use to send them here but its a long time since they did that. I know some people just have bookstagram tours but I am only just working instagram out and I use the laptop more then the phone.
I’ve been on many launch teams over the years and I’m also on several authors permanent teams. There are some authors that send me books so I can help find errors and send them back. I think I’ve been doing it for about a decade now.
Its fun isn’t it Cindi. I have a couple who will send an ARC and if I find an error I let them know (as long as its before it comes out). But wouldn’t be the best at being a beta reader who is looking for the errors as I often miss them unless they are glaring.
