Tuesday Book Chat | What’s next on your to-read list? (Or is yours a mountain?)

Welcome to the Australasian Christian Writers Tuesday Book Chat, where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.

Today’s question is:

What’s next on your to-read list? (Or is yours a mountain?)

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation in a comment on this post or in a comment on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.

Let’s chat!

When I first read this question, I thought hmm… my tbr list has been a mountain since around 2013 when all the Kindle discounting took off. I’m one of those readers who stocked up on the free and bargain-priced ebooks. I will still impulse buy ebooks that are on sale and look like something I’ll read one day. If I never read the book, I justify the expenditure as supporting author income and the publishing industry.

What am I reading next? I need to catch up on reading my Carolyn Miller collection (with book 9 releasing next month!) I also want to read Grace in Deep Waters by Christine Dillon. I have a very long list of Christian contemporary romances waiting to be read.

What do you think? What’s next on your to-read list? (Or is yours a mountain?)

And don’t forget: if you’d like to participate in our weekly Book Chat by posting the question and your answer on your blog, drop us an email via our Contact page and we’ll send you the list of questions for 2019.

  1. My TBR pile is a mountain range! Before it falls and creates an avalanche is Night Journeys by Raylene Pearce (partly read and shouting at me to complete!) closely followed by Burn My Letters by Ruth Bonetti. Teetering on the other side of the mountain range are several books by Rosanne Hawke, Cecily Anne Paterson and Patricia Weerkoon ( because I can’t hand them on to my granddaughters for Christmas without reading them first!) and in between them will be Carolyn Miller’s new release in November! Hopefully I can reduce the threatened avalanche to a pile of rubble before o start to build it up again!!

  2. I have ‘to be read’ and ‘partly read’ books scattered across my desk, my lounge and beside my bed. Including ‘Out of the Cages’ by Penny Jaye, ‘The Elusive Miss Ellison’ by Carolyn Miller, ‘The Blue Rose’ by Kate Forsyth, ‘The Baggage Handler’ by David Rawlings, ‘The True Story of Maddie Bright’ by Mary-Rose MacColl and ‘Deep River’ by Karl Malantes. And then there’s the non fiction!

  3. Mine is definitely an out-of-control mountain!

Next up is either Carry Me Away by Dorothy Adamek or The Camera Never Lies by David Rawlings 🙂
