Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat.
This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.
Today’s question is:
What country do you want to travel to because you read about it in a book?
We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.
Let’s chat!
The When Calls the House books made me want to visit Canada and see a mountie. I didn’t see one but I did go. Sisterchicks do the Hula made me have to go to Hawaii. I did get to visit Hawaii and it was as good as I thought it would be. There are other places I have visited and want to visit due to books.
Your turn.
I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group.
Hi Jenny, great question, and I’m going to talk about two countries who share a border. I’ve wanted to visit Lapland in Finland after reading the late Marion Ueckerman’s Christmas novella ‘Poles Apart’ and also ‘Helsinki Sunrise’. Then I wanted to add in a small detour to Norway after reading Marion’s book ‘Oslo Overtures’. Then I discovered Milla Holt’s books set in Norway and more places to visit there. 😊
Sounds good. That reminds me of a couple of Melody Carlsons Christmas Novella’s set in the Alps (made up countries but near the alps) Christmas in Switzerland/Austria/Germany sounds so interesting except I don’t like the cold and I would miss Cricket.
A couple others of the Sisterchicks have made me want to visit places. I forget the title but the one in The Netherlands I would love to visit Corrie Ten Booms house. (and see tulips).
Her one set downunder in NZ she talks about chocolate fish and I was so happy to be able to taste this when in Adelaide.
