Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat.
This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week. As we are a faith-based group the questions refer mainly to Christian fiction or non-fiction.
Today’s question is:
Do recommendations in a newsletter encourage you to read another author’s book?
We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group. Remember to comment today on Tuesday Book Chat to enter the giveaway.
Let’s chat!
Mostly no but I did buy Jan Drexler’s Cozy Mystery thanks to a recommendation in a newsletter. I think the cover is what got me interested but I do buy it and loved it. There may be a few others I bought but it isn’t that often. Generally, I don’t read them unless the cover grabs me.
Your turn.
I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group.

I will occasionally buy a recommended book if it’s in a genre I like and I like the description of the book. If I’m on the fence I’ll add it to my wishlist to check out for later when I’m searching for something new to read.
I can relate to that. I think it also depends who its recommended. If its the authors own endorsement rather than buy this book from a friend really helps.
Not usually because the books they mention are already on my radar, either because they are already on my wish list or they are ones I’m not interested in reading.
I am on way to many lists so get recommendations for books I am not interested in. I really should do a cull but don’t want to offend some of the authors. also the ones I don’t want to offend there are many I skim and don’t read anyway.
