Tuesday Book Chat | 8 July 2025

Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat.

This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week. As we are a faith-based group the questions refer mainly to Christian fiction or non-fiction.

Today’s question is:

How are you doing with your 2025 reading challenge?

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group. Remember to comment today on Tuesday Book Chat to enter the giveaway.

Let’s chat!

I set a goal of 25 and reached it about a week ago. Am still on 25 but have changed it to 40. I did set it lower as there are times I don’t read much or have a week where I am too tired to read. It is almost a week since I have been able to read.

Your turn.

I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group.

Comment on today’s post to enter the Tuesday Book Chat quarterly e-gift card giveaway sponsored by Narelle Atkins. Two winners per quarter, $10 US or $15 Aussie e-gift cards.

The winners can choose between an Amazon.com or Kobo USD $10 gift card, or an AUD $15 gift card from Amazon AustraliaiBooksKobo, or Koorong.com.au.

  1. Hi Jenny, Congrats on reaching your original goal! I didn’t set a reading goal—other than making sure I’d read (or reread) enough books to cover my weekly Fan Girling episodes—but I did set a goal of increasing the number of written reviews I posted at Goodreads. So far I’ve posted 16 reviews in 2025, with book #17 read and ready to review/recommend. I’m also cross-posting reviews at Koorong for books they have in their catalogue. They have a customer rewards points system for reviews posted on their site.

    1. I set a low number cos I know I often have issues this year I figure I should make 40.

  2. I set an ambitious goal of 150 for this year (though I have gone past that for the last few years) and so far I have read 80 books. Goodreads tells me I’m 4 books ahead of schedule.

    1. You are doing well. its always good to be ahead of the schedule.

  3. I have read 110 of the 175 goal that I set on Goodreads, so I’m doing good. I usually read way more than that, but I’ve had less time this year.

    1. Oh wow you are doing so good. At this rate you will meet your goal.

  4. I didn’t really have a number in mind, I just wanted to read as many books as I could. So far I’m on number 29 and am pretty happy with that.

    1. Thanks for stopping by Kelly 29 is good for this time of the year.
