Tuesday Book Chat | 9 July 2024

Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat.

This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.

Today’s question is:

What’s your favourite novel based on a real-life person?

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.

Let’s chat!

Not sure. I know I have read some but can’t think of many Christian ones. I did like The Hiding Place. As a teen I read Helen Keller’s Teacher by Margaret Davidson which was the story of Annie Sullivan and her life.

I also reads Once Blind: The Life of John Newton by Kay Marshall Strom which is more biography than a novel which told his story.

Your turn.

I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group.

  1. Hi Jenny, Years ago I read The Hiding Place and Helen Keller’s Teacher – they are both memorable stories. One of the most fascinating and comprehensive novels I’ve read about a real life person is ‘The Stones: A Novel of the Life of King David ’ by Eleanor Gustafson. It’s a long book (600 pages) that I read in 2012. It didn’t feel like a long read because the story was fast paced and action packed. It’s on my to-reread list. 😊
