Tuesday Book Chat | Do You Have A Favourite Fiction Family?

Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat. This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.

Today’s question is:

Do you have a favourite fiction family?

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.

Let’s chat!

Hard question as there are so many I have loved. I loved Gilbert Morris’s House of Winslow series with the Winslow family through the eras. Another family was The Granger family which is in the Granger Family Ranch series by Jillian Hart. It’s set in Montana on a ranch and features the brothers and sisters in the family. There is even a side romance for the widower father.

Your turn.

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation in a comment on this post or in a comment on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.

And don’t forget: if you’d like to participate in our weekly Book Chat by posting the question and your answer on your blog, drop us an email via our Contact page and we’ll send you the list of questions for 2021.

  1. The O’Malley family from Dee Henderson’s O’Malley Series. I bought the first one because of the surname but was captivated by the characters. A group of people who adopted each other, dedicated to taking care of each other, and living life on the edge. It was interesting to read each book and see how they opened their hearts to include other people into their family.

  2. Yes, the O’Malley’s are one of mine too.
Another of my favourites are Christy and Todd from several of Robin Jones Gunn’s series.

    1. Christy and Todd are good. I remember Robin telling the story of a lady who wrote to her. This lady was in church and they asked for prayer requests. She put her hand up and said Christy and Todd need prayer right now about something (I forget all the details) It wasn’t til they started praying she thought Oh no they are from the book I am reading. The lady didn’t dare tell the person praying they were praying for book characters.

  3. The O’Mally family, the Shore and Laslett families from the Heart of Green Valley series, and of course Luella Linley’s family.
