Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat. This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.
Today’s question is:
Do you have book storage problems?
We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.
Let’s chat!
Simple answer is yes. I have had to cull my books some to the Church library and sold some. I still have books doubled and in some cases tripled placed in the shelf. I was able to remove some that I had doubles of (kindle and bookshelves).
Your turn.
I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group. Remember all comments go into the monthly drawer for a gift voucher.
Nah…I have ‘Hoarder’ problems! 😀
I have that issue too
Yes, yes, YES!!!
I only read physical books, so space is very much at a premium. I don’t keep books if I know I won’t read them again, but I still have books that are just sitting in boxes that don’t have space on my shelves. I don’t think any of the books I bought last year have a spot on the shelf.
It would be helpful if books were more of a uniform height – I got a hardback last year that is a full inch taller than most of my other books (it wasn’t offered as a paperback).
Some books that I wasn’t keeping ended up being turned into book art! Others had a trip to the Op Shop.
According to my records on Goodreads, I own 1320 books – but that doesn’t count books I have that I haven’t read yet, so it’s probably closer to 1400.
I fully understand. I actually started the church library so that some of the books would have a new home.
Hi Jenny, Do people really not have book storage problems, lol. I console myself that I haven’t become my grandmother and I’m not living with multiple stacks of boxes of books in multiple rooms that don’t have a shelf home. The saving grace for me is the invisible pile of ebooks in the clouds. 😊
