Tuesday Book Chat | Do You Know Any Christian Books That Feature Farms or Horses or Other Farm Animals?

Welcome to the Australasian Christian Writers Tuesday Book Chat. This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.

Today’s question is:

Do you know any Christian books that feature farms or horses or other farm animals?

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.

Let’s chat!

Jillian Hart wrote the Granger Series which features horses but also has a pet cow called Buttercup.  She features in several of the books. I know I have read other books but Buttercup stands out. Let’s see how many we can list.

Your turn.

    1. Hi Linda, thanks for commenting. Sounds interesting. I know I have bought devotionals featuring cats and currently I have a animal one that is all creatures including horses and cattle and sheep etc.

        1. Its a Guidepost book All God’s Creatures Daily Devotions for animal lovers 2020. While a lot are cats, dogs and other pets it does include all sorts of animals.

          1. Thanks for commenting Deb. I am really enjoying it and enjoy seeing the names of authors I know. (One I have meet in person Missy Tippens) I love it cos it has different animals and I am even learning about them.

  1. Hi Jenny, Great Question! Cowboy romances are like their own sub-genre (westerns) in both historical and contemporary romance. Mary Connealy’s books come to mind. Valerie Comer’s Farm Fresh Romance series and her more recent Montana Ranch series. Plus the multi-author Arcadia Valley series. Elizabeth Maddrey’s latest series – Hope Ranch. Shannon Taylor Vannatter and Deb Kastner write westerns for Love Inspired. Lacy Williams and Debra Clopton also write small town cowboy romances. There are too many authors and books to list. 😊

    1. It may have been better to leave books on farms out as there are so many.

Most featuring farms have horses but I know Ruth Logan Herne has one featuring a sheep farmer and a maremma dog that looked after them.

  2. You’ll think I’m in a rut with my suggestions, but here it is anyway:
A Pony for Christmas by Melody Carlson
(Yes, I like Christmas books and Melody writes my favourite ones.)

    1. Your not in a rut and Melody does wonderful Christmas books I have Christmas Bus too which was great. I think she has one each year. I have missed a few but do love them.
