Tuesday Book Chat | Do You Participate In Online Author Groups

Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat. This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.

Today’s question is:

Do you participate in online author groups?

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.

Let’s chat!

Yes in a few Facebook groups. The most active I am in is Sharlene MacLaren’s FB group. What makes it good is not the constant hard sell but the interaction with other members. Sharlene will often have a question or fun posts for us to join in with. It is also a group that is faithful with prayer requests.

I was on some other FB groups which I have left partly due to self promotion and the hard sell and some due to politics. I am on a few group groups which are fun also. Many authors seem to set up a page and never post on it which are annoying.

Your turn.

I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group.

And don’t forget: if you’d like to participate in our weekly Book Chat by posting the question and your answer on your blog, drop us an email via our Contact page and we’ll send you the list of questions for 2021.

  1. In terms of author groups, I am involved with Christian writers down under, Australasian Christian writers, Omega writers . Other authors supporting authors groups are out and about, but these are the three I mainly involved with. I’m also involved with a couple of authors who support authors, called behind the story with Lisa and Naomi.

  2. The question can be taken in many ways. for Authors it means different things to a reader. I am in some author groups like you mentioned. but as a reader I was thinking of authors who have groups for readers.
