Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat. This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.
Today’s question is:
If you DNF a book, will you give the book (or Author) a second chance?
We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.
Let’s chat!
It will depend why I DNF. There have been some I have gone back and finished. I currently have one book I put to the side due to wanting to read another book first. Also if I stopped due to content being to close to home for a season I may go back later. As for authors it depends on the book and reason. One author I have read others because they had different content. Also there have been a few authors who write in different genres and while I didn’t like one genre I have enjoyed other genres. For example I have loved the author’s Contemporary but when they wrote a historical they didn’t do the research and the book hasn’t been as good. I will continue reading the contemporary but probably won’t read more historical.
Your turn.
I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group. Remember all comments go into the monthly drawer for a gift voucher.
If I just found it boring. Yes, I’ll usually give them another go–cautiously.
If I objected to content. Very rarely.
thanks for commenting. I fully agree I have stopped reading a former favourite author (they haven’t released for probably 15 years) because of some of their beliefs and some very questionable views which led to them being charged for things they were doing and teaching.
