Tuesday Book Chat | Tuesday 14 November 2023

Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat. This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.

Today’s question is:

Have you ever contacted an author after reading a book?

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.

Let’s chat!

Yes. The first time I contacted and author was Gilbert Morris by letter. I was so excited when I got a letter back with a list of his books and a couple of photos. We corresponded a couple times and I still have the letters. I also sent a couple letters that never made it to the author.

With email its so much easier. There are a few I contacted early on who have become friends. I often send an email when I have finished a book and really enjoyed it.

Your turn.

I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group.

  1. Yes!
After reading The Singing Silence, I wrote to Anne Hamilton to tell her how profoundly her book had affected me. As it turned out, she didn’t live that far from me and we ended up having coffee. The rest is history 🙂

  2. Yes! Not very often, but I have written an author at least three times that I remember. At least twice to find out if they wrote or planned to write more in the series. 😉

  3. No I haven’t. Might have thought about it once or twice, but didn’t ever do it.

    1. you may one day. After reading the Gilbert Morris series I just had to write to him.
