Welcome to the Australasian Christian Writers Tuesday Book Chat. This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.
Today’s question is:
Which book series do you wish the author would keep writing?

Let’s chat!
Over the years there have been several series I wish would not end. One would be the Sister Chicks Books by Robin Jones Gunn. I loved the series and the different places the friends were visiting. Gilbert Morris wrote the Appomattox Saga about the Civil War. But to me it felt like there should have been a final book. There are many others but can’t think of them right now.
Your turn.

I’d love to see more in Marissa Meyer’s Lunar Chronicles series. Really loved Cinder and her pals. I also hope Alexander McCall-Smith keeps up with his ‘No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency’ series and that Alan Bradley keeps going with his Flavia de Luce series. And would be great to see more in Adele Jones’ Blaine Colton series and Amanda Deeds’ reimagined fairy tales.
Thanks for commenting I haven’t read any of these books although have heard of one of them. The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency sounds interesting.
Jenny, I’m so with you on the Sisterchicks Series! I’d also like some more from Dee Henderson in the Evie Blackwell Cold Case series; Diane Noble in the Professor and Mrs Littlefield Mystery series (there was only 1); Rene Gutteridge’s Occupational Hazards series – there are only 3 written but something like 6 or 7 siblings; Jennifer O’Neill wrote 3 books in the Circle of Friends, Just Off Main series with a cliff-hanger at the end of books 3 – I want to know what happened!!!
There are a couple of other series where I know books were written, but they were never available in Australia – like the 3rd book in Sharon Dunn’s Bargain Hunters Mystery series (by the way, if anyone has it and doesn’t want it, I’d be happy to take it off your hands).
A tricky one was All the Tea in China by Jane Orcutt. The book finished on a cliff-hanger, but she passed away before she could write the sequel.
True about Jane Orcutt’s book. Although its not impossible for someone to write a sequel. I know the daughter of Hilda Stahl wrote a squeal to one of her books but it wasn’t as good are the original.
I read a series aimed at tweens Camp Girls Club written by 6 authors but all connected. (Each author was responsible for one of the 6 girls and wrote for the book featuring that girl) All the promotional info showed the titles of the first 24 books to be released monthly I think. All 24 had titles and a brief synopsis but only 18 ended up being produced. It was annoying as although they were tweens book I really enjoyed them as they reminded me of books I had read as a teen. It can be annoying when so many series now days only have 3 books in them but could have more in the series.
I love Louise Penny’s Chief Inspector Gamache novels. I’ll be heartbroken if she ever stops. Beautifully written murder mysteries laced with intrigue.
Sounds interesting
