Tuesday Book Chat | Do you follow your favourite authors on social media?

It’s Iola here. Welcome to our Australasian Christian Writers Tuesday Book Chat, where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.

Today’s question is:

Do you follow your favourite authors on social media? If so, which social media?

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation in a comment on this post or in a comment on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group. Or, if you’re feeling wordy (like me), write a blog post and link to it in the comments.

Let’s chat!

  1. yes I do. I do have twitter and am following several authors but to be honest I don’t really read many tweets.
I do however follow several authors on Facebook and am a member of a few author who have groups. I tend to be more likely to follow and keep following authors who are active and interact with readers. I am was a member of many pages or author groups that I recently deleted. The reason was some hadn’t had a post in over 2 years. If the author isn’t interacting why be in the group.
I am how ever in a couple of groups set up by the author where it feels like we are all friends, can talk books, general life, have fun and also know its a safe place to post a prayer request.
I don’t really do Instagram as I don’t know how to really use it.

  2. Only a couple on FB. I generally just wait to find out about new books by my favourite authors from publisher emails, blogs or shop catalogues.
