Book Review | Her Cowboy Blind Date By Narelle Atkins

Today I am reviewing Her Cowboy Blind Date by Narelle Atkins

Book Description

He’s a small-town guy, a cowboy at heart. She’s a city girl from the other side of the world. Will a blind date lead to a love that lasts a lifetime?

Farm mechanic Sam Williams is on the cusp of realizing his dream of being a rancher after inheriting a share in his family’s Colorado ranch. He’s keen to make plans and leave Gilead in the dust after his friend’s Easter Saturday wedding. First he needs a plus-one for the wedding, to avoid a super awkward encounter with his high-school girlfriend who has just married the best man.

After a devastating public betrayal by her high-profile ex, Bek Montford is hiding out in Kansas. She’s calling herself Becky, licking her wounds and focusing on the things that make her happy. Drawn to the annual passion play at Gilead Bible College where she’s living, she volunteers to work behind the scenes.

Since Becky is only in Gilead until June, a blind date with a suitable plus-one before the wedding seems like the perfect solution for Sam. No strings and no commitment.

But the blind date turns into a not-so-fake relationship when Sam and Becky must work together on the passion play. Can they overcome past emotional wounds and geographical distance to create a future together?

An opposites attract, different worlds, blind date and fake relationship contemporary Christian romance.

Visit Gilead, Kansas, and enjoy five romances behind the scenes at the town’s annual passion play! Five beloved authors of Christian contemporary romance have teamed together to present Easter in Gilead. Read all five for a rich experience.

My Review

Another good read by Narelle Atkins

This is the 4th book in the Easter in Gilead series and adds to the series. It is nice to see some familiar characters and also get to know Sam and Becky. Becky is in Gilead at the bible college to get away from drama back home in Australia. She choose Gilead because of the passion play they have each Easter. Sam is a Farm mechanic who has his own issues to deal with.

Sam’s needs a date to his best friends wedding but isn’t wanting a relationship due to an ex girlfriend. Becky is also in a place she is not wanting a relationship due to her own hurt. Being single at college has its own challenges. His cousin suggests they meet and see if they can help each other out.

There is a lot to unpack in this book which I would love to talk about but it would give too much away. The way the book unfolds is interesting. We do find out more about why Becky is in Gilead and why she needs time to process what happened prior to coming. The way this is handled is insightful and real. We also see how an Accident to Sam’s father when he was young impacts the future of this family. It was interesting seeing this unfold and I am sure it will help others understand these issues too.

This book answers some questions from the other books like what happened to Leo who was playing Judas. Why is there a hollywood star performing in a college Passion play. A great read and I would highly recommend it.

Do you like multi author series?

  1. Thank you, Jenny, for sharing your lovely review. I’m glad you enjoyed reading my book. 😊

  2. I’ve read and loved all the Easter in Gilead books, and I think this was Narelle’s best novel yet. I loved Bek/Becky and Sam, and all the ways the four books were intertwined.
