Today for Fiction Friday I am reviewing Narelle Atkins new book, Never Find Another You. I will be giving away one copy of the book to one commenter.
About the book
Her heart belongs in Trinity Lakes.
Hannah Gilbertson has deep roots in her small East Washington home town, including a lake named after her family. Sporty and hard working, she loves running the rowing club and supporting the town’s water recreation tourism. She’s determined to avoid dating and becoming entangled in her mother’s matchmaking schemes, and she wants to prove to her successful father that she’s worthy of carrying on his legacy.
Joel Manning left behind his life in Sydney, Australia, and a broken heart, to start over in Trinity Lakes. A tiler by trade, he’s embarking on a year long working vacation adventure, and he’s not looking for love.
The handsome Aussie captures Hannah’s interest when she hires him to do repair work at her rowing club. Joel is drawn to the beautiful American, and values spending time with her. Their shared faith and love for kayaking lays the foundation for their friendship to become something more.
A shocking secret combined with family upheaval leads to more questions than answers, and threatens to push Joel and Hannah apart to faraway shores. Can their love overcome the miles between them?
A fish out of water, opposites attract, small town contemporary Christian romance. Visit Trinity Lakes and meet the fun and quirky characters who value family, faith, and happily-ever-after.
My description
I enjoyed the first book of the Trinity Lakes Series. We are introduced to Trinity Lakes which is a character on its own. Also, to Hannah and Joel. Hannah is the manager of the Rowing club and hires Joel an Australian tiler who is working in the USA for a year. We also meet other members of the community including Becky and Gracie. Becky is Hannah’s sister and Gracie is her grandmother. We also meet other characters who will have their own stories in the coming months.
For those who have read Narelle’s previous books you will notice a couple from Seaside Proposal pop up in the book.
There is also drama with a toxic mother who likes to control her children and all around it is also very accurate showing how a toxic person works and that the issue is them. Joel also has some issues happening with his family at home but totally different from Hannah but at the same time they are similar. There is also a mystery that Hannah is trying to get answers about which I am sure will continue throughout the books.
Hannah and Joel both enjoy kayaking and we get to see time spend on the lakes and rivers. It helps to see the area and how beautiful the setting is. Another thing I love is that when issues come up it isn’t a quick fix but they work on it and talk things out.
The book flowed well and I didn’t want to put it down. I also really want to read the stories of some of the other characters and I would love to see Grandma Gracie get her own story. (Am not sure that will happen, but you never know).
If you are looking for a new series in a picturesque setting this book fits the bill.

I’m keen to read a book about how very different people make things work. It sounds like a wonderful story with very round characters. Queued on my ipad and looking forward to it!
I really did enjoy it. I also love that issues weren’t just a quick fix. I also love how it shows how dealing with toxic people can be challenging. I helped me see how these people work and I really hope it will open up other people’s eyes to this and offer some help.
Thank you, Jenny. Always enjoy hearing about Christian romance books, especially when they are realistic about issues that crop up in every day life.
Thanks Susan. I like that too. I am looking forward to more in the series.
I often find multi-author series tricky. For many, I haven’t been able to find all the books in the series, so am often feeling like I’ve missed something.
It’s even harder these days when most of them are only available as e-books and I only read print books.
Hi Beth. this series is going to be in print and all but one author will be Australian. Being the first book it is complete in itself.
Hi Jenny,
I enjoyed your review; I too am drawn to minor characters in books (you, grandma Gracie, I Jumpin in ‘Where the Crawdad’s Sing’). Sound like a great book. Congratulations Narelle! Well done, Jenny 🙂
Thanks Louise. It is a good book.
Hi Jenny, Thanks for sharing your lovely and insightful review of Never Find Another You. Trinity Lakes is like a character in the story, and it was fun to create the setting with my author friends. We also appreciate the support from readers who are talking about the series and sharing reviews. 😊
Your welcome and I really need to see more of Grandma Gracie
Thank you, Jenny, for this interesting review. You do this well. Congratulations, too, Narelle. It looks like an interesting book to read. I really love reading Australian authors. Every good wish for this, Narelle.
