Welcome to Fiction Friday today I am reviewing Alaskan Survival Threat by Megan Short.

Book Description:

Gunmen in pursuit…

And there’s nowhere to hide.

Park Ranger Helena Nikolaou’s assignment takes a deadly turn when she sees a body drop from a helicopter–and she suddenly comes under fire. Ambushed on a remote Alaskan island, she’s saved by US Coast Guard rescue swimmer Cody Hannigan. Only, the assailants won’t give up easily. With danger trailing their every move, Helena and Cody are forced through unforgiving terrain to retrieve evidence linked to a sinister conspiracy. But as they fight to stay one step ahead of killers determined to silence them, one wrong move could cost them their lives.

My Review:

Thanks to the author for my review copy.

I have loved every book Megan Short has written and this is no exception. In fact, I think each book gets better and she is becoming one of my favourite LIS writers.

The book starts with Park Ranger Helena Nikolaou trying to find evidence a bird that isn’t normally found in the Kodiak area. It’s here she witnesses something being dropped from a helicopter and becomes a target. She is rescued by US Coast Guard rescue swimmer Cody Hannigan who has recently transferred the area. This is just the start of Helena being a target and in danger.

You can feel the danger from page one and the book moves well. I didn’t want to put the book down. Helena grew up with a father who has trained her from a young age to survive in different circumstances. This is helpful in staying alive. It also shows how it impacted her growing up as well. Cody has also had tragedy in his past that is still affecting him. With them both in danger their pasts are what is helping them survive.

The past is also affecting them in different ways. I loved how the book played out. I was kept on edge right to the end. The location adds to the suspense. If you enjoy LIS I am sure you will love this book.
