From Love Inspired Suspense: Courage. Danger. Faith.

My Review:

Thanks to the author for my review copy.

Welcome back to Cordova, Alaska the second book in the series. While there are a few characters in the book from book one but only in a minor capacity. We met Beth Ryder in book. She is a teacher who loves her students and her job. This book we learn Beth is in WITSEC, Witness Protection and her identity has been compromised. US Marshall Jake Cruz is sent to extract her and deliver her to safety.

The book starts with a bang. Beth finds out her cover has been compromised, and her usual handler is unable due to illness. This is where Jake comes in. He has been sent to keep protect her and deliver her to the new safe place. Right from the start there is action and Beth’s life is in danger only she doesn’t fully comprehend how much.

There is a lot of drama in this book but not to the point you wonder how the characters are still alive. Along with the high drama there are some touching scenes with real conversations. The faith element is relevant and very real.

I loved the way the book played out, there were a few surprises I didn’t pick. Each book gets better and I eagerly await the next book. If you love romantic suspense set in Alaska give this book a chance.

  1. It sounds like a great book. I love romantic suspense and have read a few set in Alaska. The Alaskan landscape adds its own dimension to these books, such that it becomes a character in its own right. I’ve done the Alaskan panhandle cruise and made a little day trip into the Yukon, but I would love to go back and explore the larger part of Alaska. I’m in Australia, so it’s a bit expensive, but maybe I’ll get back there one day.

    1. Its on my bucket list too. I do actually have a friend in Delta Junction I think.

    1. Thanks for commenting Rochelle, I loved book one and I think book 2 is even better. All the best on the contest. Don’t forget to check out Narelle’s blog for a second chance to enter.

  2. I don’t think I’ve read any of Megan’s books, but it sounds intriguing.
I do live in Australia. The cold in Alaska would certainly be a change from the heat we have experienced in the past week!

    1. Her first book came out last July. and I agree about the cold in Alaska after last week. I am sure you would enjoy her books.

  3. Hi Jenny, Thanks for sharing Megan’s book and your review. I loved the story and I read it in an afternoon and evening (within eight hours) because I couldn’t put it down (other than to break for dinner, lol). Her first book, Alaskan Police Protector, was excellent, too. 😊
