Tuesday Book Chat | 16 April 2024

Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat.

This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.

Today’s question is:

What’s a book you have read more than three times?

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.

Let’s chat!

The last books I would have read more than three times were in my teens when still in school. I haven’t read any Christian Fiction books more than once. The last Christian books I read more than three times would have been the Peggy Series by Dorothy Martin and the Narnia series.

Your turn.

I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group.

  1. Anne of Green Gables, A Christmas Carol and the Little Women Series. In fact, I just finished reading Little Women, Good Wives, Ho’s Bors and Little Men a few months ago.

    1. I did read Little Women and a few of the others in the series not sure how many times but it was prior to reading mainly Christian fiction. still haven’t read Anne of Green Gables. I was too young when I first tried to read it

  2. Hi Jenny, Since I should only pick one book, I’ll go with Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. I haven’t read the book in recent years, but I’ve owned a paperback copy for a few decades. Prior to purchasing a Kindle and acquiring a long TBR list, Redeeming Love was one of the books I’d reread once a year. I love the redemption themes in the story and the parallels with the Book of Hosea that highlight God’s redeeming love for us.

    1. I maybe one of those strange people but as an adult I haven’t re read any Christian fiction. As a child and teen I reread so many books. But I went about 7 years from about the age of 18ish where I didn’t read a book.

  3. Sisterchicks series by Robin Jones Gunn (yes, I’ve read the entire series more than 3 times), Undetected by Dee Henderson, Dead as a Scone by Ron and Janet Benry, Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, What Katy Did by Susan Coolidge, Million Dollar Mystery series by Mindy Starns Clark, The O’Malley series by Dee Henderson.
I’m sure there are more, but most of them would have been books I read as a child.

    1. I agree the premise was too broad as there were lots I read over and over as a child and teen. For me I had a distinct break of about 7 years which is when I restarted reading christian fiction. I had read some cricket books but not fiction. So I am taking it from when I restarted but haven’t really reread a book except by accident or if it was rewritten. But the Sisterchick books would be up there to re read along with When calls the Heart series by Janette Oke.
