Tuesday Book Chat | 19 December 2023

Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat. This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.

Today’s question is:

What are your top ten books books you read in 2023?

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.

Let’s chat!

I don’t have a top ten. I have only read around 23 books including a couple of devotional books. This makes it hard to have a top 10. So I am not going to rank the books. If you have a top ten or five let us know.

Your turn.

I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group.

  1. As long as re-reads count, I have a few more than 10 that got 5 stars this year. It also includes a mix of fiction and non-fiction.
In order read, not necessarily actual top ten:
    * Last Chance by R.A. Spratt (Friday Barnes series #11 – actually a kids book, not a Christian author, but I read it for work and loved it).
    * Mrs. Witherspoon goes to War by Mary Davis (part of the Heroines of WWII series, all by different authors)
    * A Life of Grace by Mark Green (pictorial look at the life of Queen Elizabeth II)
    * Bible Prophecy : The Essentials : Answers to your most common questions by Amir Tsarfati and Barry Stagner (a look at Bible prophecy by a Messianic Jew)
    * The Escape Game by Marilyn Turk (another one from the Heroines of WWII series)
    * A Penny for Your Thoughts by Mindy Starns Clark (#1 in her Million Dollar Mystery series), as well as A Quarter for a Kiss (#4) and The Buck Stops Here (#5)
    * The Witness by Dee Henderson
    * The Uncommon Heroes series by Dee Henderson
    * Full Disclosure by Dee Henderson (I had a re-read stage while I waited for some new books to arrive)
    * Windows on Christmas by Bill Crowder (a short look at a few different characters from the Christmas story)

So there’s my 10, though a few have more than one book included.
