Tuesday Book Chat | Is There An Issue Your Would Like To See More In Christian Fiction?

Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat. This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.

Today’s question is:

Is there an issue your would like to see more in Christian fiction?

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.

Let’s chat!

I would like to see more books featuring over older heroines who are single never married and never had a serious relationship. Rather then divorced or widowed. It does happen more than many realise. Also more hero’s or heroines with disabilities or a medical condition. Things like migraine, MS, even diabetes which can be lived with. Also deaf or blind, or disabilities like in the Paralympics. Showing that even with disabilities the characters live a normal life.

Your turn.

I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group. I will be late replying as have a trip to the city today.

  1. Tony D is a friend of ours, I remember receiving a phone call the night he was born and telling us of his condition. He is an amazing man – sent to London Olympics to sing as well as other important occasions. He has his own music business and often does busking. He is a member of the church pastored by our nephew. He has a lovely caring wife. He has honoured God and God has honoured him. He has a good story.

      1. I googled Tony D and found a hip hop artist and a gangster. I figure thats not who you are referring to.

  2. I agree with you, Jenny, about the older singles who have never married or had a serious relationship.
I’d also like more books like Robin Jones Gunn’s Sisterchicks series.
Or stories about what happens after the ‘Happily ever after’ ending because we all know that life doesn’t go perfectly once the wedding day has happened and there are stories to be told about the ups and downs of life.
Mysteries that don’t involve murder or physical/mental abuse.

    1. I too would love more sisterchick type books. I agree too about the life after HEA. I am reading a nice cozy Mystery right now but again it has a murder (although that was a tiny part) there are 2 older sisters in their 80’s who love Miss Marple and are wanting to solve the mystery with the main characters. Add a cat and its been fun but I agree a mystery could be a missing person/pet/object which I have seen done but not as often. Or even blackmail.
