Tuesday Book Chat | What’s Your Favourite Fictional Service: Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marines?

Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat. This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.

Today’s question is:

What’s your favourite fictional Service: Army, Navy, Air Force or Marines?

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.

Let’s chat!

As I read last weeks question wrong I am going to  say I love Cheryl Wyatts, “Wings of Refuge Series”. It features a group of PJ’s (Parajumpers) who often go in when there are disasters or accidents where they need to jump in. The series doesn’t show as many of the missions but deals with their life at home. Their training and work in the community.

I am not sure I have a favourite service I also loved Gilbert Morris’s House of Winslow series set in WW1 which dealt with the Air force. To be honest it depends on the actual story.

Your turn.

I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group. Remember all comments go into the monthly drawer for a gift voucher.

  1. I really like Dee Henderson’s Uncommon Heroes series, which covers a few branches of the military. I also really like her book ‘Undetected’ – totally Navy. I suppose I’m more drawn to the Navy because my grandfather served in the Royal Navy in WW2.

    1. I can understand that. I remember one of Kaye Darcus historical books features the navy I think. Thanks for stopping by

  2. I’m torn between the US Marines and the US Army. I have dear friends who served in these services.
