Fiction Friday | Book Review of Persian Blue Puzzle by Susan Page Davis

Today I am reviewing Persian Blue Puzzle by Susan Page Davis. This is her latest book in the True Blue Mysteries.

Description:

An antisocial cat, an elusive investment broker, and a hope-selling psychic raise suspicions in a western Kentucky community.

Someone’s broken into Miss Louanne’s house. Campbell McBride and her father Bill have moved their home and detective business into an old Victorian house. Their new neighbors bring in unexpected cases for True Blue Investigations to unravel. While helping Miss Louanne look for her missing cat, Campbell learns of other suspicious activities in Murray. Another neighbor tells the detectives about a stranger in town who’s peddling an investment plan. They aren’t sure any crimes have been committed, but they’re intrigued enough for Campbell to visit a psychic along with police detective Keith Fuller’s mom and to start checking up on the financier. Things heat up when a customer threatens the psychic and then she vanishes.

My Review:

This is the third book in the series and I another good read. In this book Campbell and her father have moved to a new home and set up their office in the downstair rooms. The book starts with a new case and we are introduced to new neighbours. One is the owner of a persian blue cat who is very much master of the house and a one person cat. The story also includes another neighbour worried her daughter is involved with a conman. We also see The police detective Keith back and the budding romance between Campbell and Keith growing. His mother also helps with one part of the investigation. There are a lot of twists and turns and interesting characters.

I love the way Susan weaves a mystery and links different threads. It kept guessing most of the book. This is an excellent addition to the series and again I could see this series as a TV PI Mystery series. If you enjoy Private Detective Mysteries I am sure you will enjoy this series.  I am yet to read a Susan Page Davis book I haven’t enjoyed.

  1. This sounds like a very interesting book. We have had a Persian cat on two occasions. They have both been very aristocratic! I do enjoy detective stories with twists and turns to keep you guessing. Thank you for sharing this.

    1. Hi Heather, while its book 3 it could be read on its own as the story is a new adventure but it does have a continuing thread. The other two books are really good. I think I have reviewed both the other books here.

      1. Thanks, Jenny. You do well with book reviews. We are moving house this weekend – closer to Brisbane. We are with our daughter and son-in-law now. He is the fire commander for the Ipswich area and we will be nearer to his work.
