Devotion | God is Able

Songs can bring such encouragement to fortify and strengthen us.

A new song we are learning in church has a tag with the words  You’re not done with me yet,  there’s so much more to the story….The words “You’re not done with me yet” move me in my spirit. In the deepest part of me, I am relieved. I don’t want Him to give up on me but truthfully sometimes think He should. Those sorts of thoughts coincide with the times I feel like giving up on myself.

God is Able. We sing this, we pray this but do we really allow God to be God and to continue to write our story? I want God to be able and I believe He is able but when, God? When will you answer that prayer,  when will you do something about this situation that’s breaking my heart?

To say and agree with God is to stand in faith that He is still a God who does miracles. I have at least a couple of miracles I’d like Him to perform. Higher on my list of miracles though is Lord, help me to believe that you are indeed able to speak to me, that you are able to bring a revelation to me.

It’s the closeness of my relationship with Jesus that is my deepest desire. I know intellectually that He is able to teach me how to be closer to Him but it never seems close enough for me. Is it ok to say this? Am I the only one who dares to think He’s fed up with me?

What if you did took a leap of faith today and regardless of the immediate outcome, to declare as a matter of fact that GOD IS ABLE?!!! He is able to do Immeasurably more in fact.

Ephesians 3 Verse 20 (NIV)Now to Him who is ABLE to do immeasurably more than all we could ask or think or imagine, according to his power that works within us, verse 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

A miracle He has done in my life is to bring along a wonderful husband for me. 23 years ago today, I married Colin. I had been a solo Mum to 4 daughter for nearly 4 years. I prayed for a husband of course but thought I would too much of a liability. In the background there had been so much brokenness, debt, depression and divorce. What chance did I have? But God!!!

He is Able. He was Able. He will always be Able.

When was the last time God moved in your life? Do you believe He is Able to do so? Will you declare today, in raw faith, without any obvious signs that He..IS…ABLE??

He’s not done with you yet. There’s so much more to the story!!
