Tuesday Book Chat | 5 December 2023

Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat. This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.

Today’s question is:

What Christmas books or novels do you recommend?

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.

Let’s chat!

This year I have read a few I have enjoyed. Melody Carlson’s A Royal Christmas. I also enjoyed Another Christmas Story by Susan Page Davis which is a historical. Both were good reads for different reasons. I plan to read more before Christmas. Jessica Wakefields The Christmas Box is also a good read.

Your turn.

I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group.

    1. Thanks for sharing. I have watched it but never actually read it.
I decided to stick to this year cos I remember them better. There are so many great Christmas stories.

  1. Two Tickets to the Christmas Ball by Donita K Paul (I read this one every year for a few years), The Red Gloves Collection by Karen Kingsbury, Christmas novellas by Melody Carlson (she has released a new one every year for quite a few years), The Substitute Guest by Grace Livingston Hill (this one is fairly old, but a great story).
This is just a selection from the 95 books that I’ve read over the years that are Christmas themed. There are new ones I’ll be adding to the list this year. The list includes an assortment of romance, suspense, and devotionals.
I have read A Christmas Carol, but mostly I watch The Muppet Christmas Carol every year, which is really close to the story – more than any other movie adaption I have seen.

    1. Thanks Beth. I do love Melody Carlson’s Christmas Novellas. and you are right there are so many good Christmas books.
