Tuesday Book Chat | Do Social Media Book Promotions Inspire You to Buy Books?

Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat. This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.

Today’s question is:

Do social media book promotions inspire you to buy books?

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.

Let’s chat!

Not really. I use FaceBook Purity which stops adds in Facebooks adds. Facebook groups that have promo may be more likely to inspire me to buy a book. I am more likely to buy due to blogs or groups than an add somewhere.

Your turn.

I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group. Remember all comments go into the monthly drawer for a gift voucher.

  1. I’ve bought one book from a Facebook ad, so I’m going with no. But I have looked and even purchased (or asked my library to purchase) plenty of books when someone shared it in a group I belong to. Or from reading a review or in a member highlight newsletter/blog. It’s more personal and therefore more interesting. Also, I’ve been stung by Facebook ads in the past which makes me less likely to trust them.

    1. I too got stung by a facebook ad. thankfully I got my money back but it has made me very wary of them.
I too mostly by from recommendations in groups or blogs or newsletters etc.

  2. I do occasionally purchase books that have caught my attention on social media. Often I have specific authors I always purchase and like to expand my horizons a bit. I don’t follow groups or authors due to time constraints .

    1. I can say I have too on social media but its been from a group or a friend etc. Its not so much from ads as such. Thanks for stopping by.
