Tuesday Book Chat | If Your Bookshelf Could Only Hold One Genre… What’s Staying?

Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat where we discuss bookish questions.

Each week we ask a bookish question to spark conversation among readers, with a focus on Christian fiction and nonfiction.

Today’s question is:

If your bookshelf could only hold one genre… What’s staying?

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group. Remember to comment today on Tuesday Book Chat to enter the giveaway.

Let’s chat!

Oh, my this is so hard. (Who comes up with these questions;)) I am not sure as I switch and change. It is going to be a toss-up between Cozy Mystery and Romantic Suspense. I think this month it will be Cozy Mystery. But I am going to be looking at a friend’s bookcase that has some of the other genres. (Can we have a co-op of book lovers all with one genre that we can share with?)

Your turn.

I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group.

  1. I’d go with Romantic Suspense – although technically it’s 2 genres, that way I still have the best of both worlds with the romance and the suspense.

    1. It may be 2 but Romantic Suspense is a Genre on its own and its one I was tossing up with. I know some people read just one genre but I would really stuggle only having to have one only.

  2. Hi Jenny, I’d have to go with contemporary romance—which means I can keep my own books on the shelf, lol. The problem is I’d soon be bored and in a reading rut if I couldn’t switch between genres!

    1. See this is why you and me and Beth can be friends and share but I need someone who wants just Historical and I have read a couple romantasy and loved them too.

      1. Book sharing is always great – except when the person you loan your books to looses them! Narelle, I do agree that contemporary romance a good too – I’ve been reading more of them than romantic suspense lately.

    1. I guessed you would choose that catagory and it is actually one of the widest as in historical romance they don’t have the subgenres like in contemporary. (want to join the friend circle with Beth and Narelle and I)
