Tuesday Book Chat | Tuesday Book Chat 6 October 2026

Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat where we discuss bookish questions.

Each week we ask a bookish question to spark conversation among readers, with a focus on Christian fiction and nonfiction.

Today’s question is:

Do You prefer books that drop you right into the action or ones that take time to set the mood?

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group. Remember to comment today on Tuesday Book Chat to enter the giveaway.

Let’s chat!

It actually depends on the book. Some books I love how the action starts from page one. Others I like it builds up to the action. It really depends on the genre and book. There are books I think have way too much lead up to the action and it feels like there is too much setting up the book.

Your turn.

I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group.

Comment on today’s post to enter the Tuesday Book Chat quarterly e-gift card giveaway sponsored by Narelle Atkins. One winner per quarter, $10 US or $15 Aussie e-gift cards.
