Tuesday Book Chat | Which Author Would You Like To Invite To Dinner

Welcome to Tuesday Book Chat. This is where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.

Today’s question is:

Which author would you like to invite to dinner?

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation by commenting on this post or on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group.

Let’s chat!

A few years ago it would have been Gilbert Morris before he passed away. Now it would be hard to pin it down to one person. Cheryl Wyatt would be on the list. For an Australian or New Zealand author I think Rose Dee or Carolyn Miller. I have already had a meal with Narelle Atkins and a couple others. I do enjoy Rose’s books and am enjoying Carolyn’s contemporary books.  Could I just have a large dinner party?

Your turn.

I look forward to reading your comments here or at the FB group.

And don’t forget: if you’d like to participate in our weekly Book Chat by posting the question and your answer on your blog, drop us an email via our Contact page and we’ll send you the list of questions for 2021.

  1. Can I have more than one? I’d invite some of the suspense queens like Colleen Coble, Terri Blackstock, Dee Henderson, Dani Pettrey, Brandilyn Collins, Susan May Warren and Laurie Wood, and we could plan our next spine-tingling saga.

  2. 2 immediately pop into my mind – Robin Jones Gunn and Irene Hannon.

  3. Oooo, do I have to choose just one??
I would love to invite Carolyn Miller, Meredith Resce, Nola Lorraine, Jenny Glazbrook because they are beautiful friends, and Monica McInerney too because I love that she is South Australian and I love her books, especially the research she puts into every story and how genuine she is as a person.

  4. I’d invite Liz Curtis Higgs…love her humour and insight.

If I could invite anyone dead or alive, I’d be inviting Bryce Courtenay and Barbara Johnson (the Geranium lady), I found her book Where Does a Mother Go to Resign on it’s 10th anniversary release and it was just what I needed at the time to help me thorugh a really tough period in my life.

    1. They all sound good. If I could have someone who had passed away it would be Gilbert Morris.
